Today is a very special day for us: we will make our tv debut! We have been working on a new television show for Dutch tv. The show is called Anna’s Brains with Anna Gimbrere as presenter. Together with other young scientists we will solve crazy (impossible) questions, such as ‘Can we live under water?’ and ‘Can you surf on air?’. We all star in different episodes with other scientists from other disciplines.
Working in a different environment with different scientists was an exciting experience for us and we learned a lot about communicating science to an even broader audience.
One of the reasons we agreed on making the show was because it resonates so well with the main mantra of our initiative. If you can’t see it, you can’t be it. We really hope that students will watch the show and see that science doesn’t mean old, white, crazy, man in a lab coat, but means passion, energy, communication and excitement.
The show will be aired every Monday from August 30th at 20:25 on NPO 3 (Dutch television) and will consist of 8 episodes. We contributed to the first, second, fourth, and seventh episode.
